Great resource - Incest Survivor Manual. This is for a checklist for survivors. Warning - may be triggering. http://ning.it/cYriWp

Quiet interlude ~ felines resting peacefully ~ batteries re-charge. (If your cats are anything like mine, they wait until 2:00 AM to do NASCAR-style laps around the apartment.)

This network is staying... I've opted to pay the $250 annually to keep it functioning. Look for additional content and discussion threads.

It's never too late to have a happy childhood!

I don't know about anybody else, but I find my eyes rolling up in my head reacting to some of the self-proclaimed gurus who have the sheer gall to insist that your life has to be gumdrops and roses all the time. If it's not, they claim (or imply), it's obviously because you're just not trying hard enough, or you're not spiritual enough, or you haven't purchased enough of their books or workshops... (cough, cough)I cry BALONEY! Some days, it's just hard. And for those of us who are survivors of…See More

Yay! I remember when my two biological children were little, discovering the freedom to play along with my kids, in the guise of being a good parent. While there's certainly significant truth in that concept, it's also true that play is…

This is meant to be a safe place, a place where survivors can share their triumphs, their challenges, and their tears. I have some degree of moderation enabled so that I can keep any truly inappropriate content out.

I would like people to avoid posting truly graphic details of the events they have survived, for three good reasons:

1) It's not the event that's as important as YOU, your feelings and what you're going through right NOW. "They" don't deserve any power. YOU, however, do!

2. Safety - yours, and everyone else's. Graphic details can be quite triggering, often unexpectedly, so let's look out for one another on this one, okay?

3) I don't want ghouls coming here trying to get their fix of gruesome details - we're not here for that. Go away, nothing to see here...
